BIO sits between dry Finnish sauna and a very humid steam room, but it is not an improvised mixture. It is a dedicated configuration inside a wooden sauna: a compatible Combi heater warms the room while controlling steam generation.
The user experiences more even heat and greater humidity than in classic Finnish mode. Exact settings, duration and maintenance always follow the installed equipment.
Step 01What defines BIO mode
BIO is defined by gentler air temperature, controlled higher humidity and equipment capable of maintaining both. The figures are not a universal protocol; the permitted range comes from the specific Combi heater and controls.
Unlike the short steam wave created by pouring water on stones, the steam module doses humidity through the system. Pouring water on a Finnish heater does not turn it into a BIO configuration.
Step 02The technical anatomy of a Combi system

A Combi system links a heater and stones, reservoir or steam module, suitable sensors and compatible controls. The project must coordinate output, cabin volume, ventilation, any required water connection and access for draining and service.
KUBIQ may consider HUUM CORE Combi or other compatible equipment when it fits the construction and use case. The final specification is project-specific; BIO is not promised without checking utilities.
Retrofitting an existing sauna is not simply a heater swap. Controls, sensors, ventilation, electrical load, water filling and draining, and materials exposed to greater humidity all need checking. If these conditions are unresolved, a new dedicated project may be more rational than retrofit work.
Service access to the steam module must stay clear. Reservoir, drain and cleaning points should not end up behind fixed cladding or a bench that must be dismantled for every maintenance visit.
Step 03Who BIO mode may suit

BIO is commonly chosen by people who prefer gentler, more humid and steadier perceived heat. In a shared room it can broaden choice where household members have different preferences.
This is not a medical recommendation for older people, children, respiratory conditions or sleep. Suitability for a child or person with a health condition belongs with a qualified medical professional; KUBIQ does not prescribe age, temperature or duration.
Step 04Practical use
Before starting, check the water level or supply, steam-module condition and settings permitted for the installed system. Do not add water or open service components during use outside the manufacturer instructions.
There is no required duration. Leave at discomfort, dizziness, weakness or an unusual reaction. After use, shut down, drain or dry the system as specified and ventilate the cabin.
Step 05Fragrances and botanicals
Use only additives permitted for the specific steam module or designated container. Oils, herbs or other substances do not belong in the reservoir, on the heater or on stones without explicit instructions. Fragrance is part of the experience, not a health treatment.

No mode is universally better. Choice depends on user preference, utilities, maintenance and whether the room needs to offer different experiences.
Step 07Safety and maintenance
Water makes ventilation, drying and descaling more important. There is no universal maintenance interval: it follows water quality and steam-module instructions. Service access must remain available.
